Our Story

The Salad Servers was founded in 1979 due to customer demand.

Our humble beginnings were born out of a local chicken shop called The Game Gourmet, owned by one of our founders, Brian Swift. Some of The Game Gourmet's key customers just loved our salads in the shop so much they asked us to produce salads for them in bulk. So, we did! And the rest is history. We realised creating and producing salads for our customers is what we love and do best and we've never looked back.

Today, Salad Servers supplies businesses of all shapes and sizes across the country. As pioneers in this space, we have over 40 years' experience supplying exceptional meals to the finest Australian businesses.

We've come a long way from our local chicken shop. With our progressive factory based in Chatswood, NSW, we're always looking for ways to improve and stay ahead of the industry curve.

At Salad Servers, we know healthy food should never be boring. With more than 120 salad options on the menu at any given time, we offer solutions to suit a wide range of customers, occasions and tastes.

Keeping our range fresh is a big part of what sets us apart. To make room for something new, something else has to come off the menu. That means our product offering is constantly being reviewed, refined and refreshed, so we stay in step with market trends and often ahead of them.

Our experienced Research and Development team plays a key role in that process, using customer feedback, market testing and industry insights to create products your customers genuinely want.

With deep expertise across the industry, we operate a fully integrated supply chain that gives us control over every stage of the process. From sourcing fresh produce and developing recipes to manufacturing, packaging, logistics and delivery, we manage it all in-house.

We service three main types of clients:

Retail

If you're looking for a quick, convenient grab-and-go salad, our pre-packaged salads are perfect for you. We cater to retailers of all types and sizes including cafés, schools, hospitals, local grocery stores and major supermarkets, among others.

Foodservice

We supply bulk salad, soup and meal options that can be used in a variety of ways including delis and salad bars.

Commercial Packages

Want to be different? We can make a bespoke salad or meal solution specifically for your business. Subject to minimum batch sizes.

Flexibility

With any of our bulk salad options, you can order mixed salad boxes, so you can offer your customers more variety without having to commit to large orders of the same salad.

Because Australia's climates and growing conditions vary so widely, we source fresh vegetables from regions across the country, selecting the best produce from the places that grow it best.

Our state-of-the-art processing facility in Chatswood, NSW is powered by modern technology and underpins our comprehensive Quality Assurance Program.

It also enables us to deliver longer shelf life and greater product integrity through:

• an unbroken cold chain across processing, packaging and distribution

• automated wash, chill and sanitation systems

• a one-way factory flow with physical separation of low and high-risk ingredients

• a rigorous HACCP program aligned with recognised food safety standards, including SQF Edition 9 Food Safety and Quality Code.
